Lucky

Domestic Shorthair

Lucky’s early life was almost tragically short. Found in Brooklyn, close to a graveyard, she was on the brink of death—emaciated, freezing, with a large bite wound in her cheek and eyes swollen shut from infection. Most people passed her by, but a friend of one of our Cat Connections NYC members noticed her and, knowing her friend was in the rescue, acted immediately. She rescued Lucky in a cardboard box and contacted us for help. Lucky endured a long ride from Brooklyn to Astoria, Queens, generously covered by a supporter who wanted her to receive proper care. Upon assessing her critical condition, our member brought her to an expert caregiver in Woodside for life-saving fluids. From there, she was transported to two hospitals in Manhattan for urgent treatment. Lucky’s survival is a testament to her resilience, the dedication of rescuers, and the life-saving power of compassionate, timely care. From the brink of death, she now has a chance at a healthy, happy life.
