Did You Know?
Here are the heartbreaking facts... :(

When cats enter traditional shelters, up to 72 percent might face euthansia rather than adoption.
According to Shelter Animals Count, in 2024, there were an estimated 273,000 cats euthanized in U.S. shelters.
Further, for feline “non‑live outcomes” (which include euthanasia, death in care, or being lost in care), about 79% of those outcomes were due to euthanasia. Every time you foster a cat, you are directly reducing the pressure on shelters, freeing up space and resources for other cats in need, and giving a specific cat a much better chance of reaching adoption rather than living in overcrowded conditions or ending in a non‑live outcome.
According to the Animal Legal Defense Fund, up to 250,000 animals every year in the U.S. are victims of animal hoarding.
Many of these cats come from overwhelmed individuals who began rescuing with good intentions but became unable to provide proper care as the number of animals grew.
When cats are left in overcrowded or unsanitary conditions, they often suffer from untreated medical issues, malnutrition, and extreme stress.
Fostering is one of the most effective ways to prevent this cycle. By opening your home to even one cat, you’re creating a safe, healthy space for that animal - and helping rescues avoid overcrowding and desperation that can lead to hoarding conditions.
